Is the Cardo 4X-S already installed in the Neotec 3?
Yes. Every Shoei Neotec 3 Solids + Cardo 4X-S ships with the Cardo 4X-S installed in the helmet by The Helmet Shop. We also fully charge the headset and test the speakers, microphone, controls and Bluetooth connection before it leaves our shop, so it's ready to ride out of the box.
If I order two helmets, will the headsets talk to each other?
Yes. When two helmet-and-headset combos are ordered together, we pair the two headsets to each other (Bluetooth intercom) before shipping. Power them on and you can talk to your passenger or riding partner right away – no manuals or pairing steps needed.
Does the Cardo 4X-S fit the Neotec 3?
Yes. The Cardo 4X-S is designed for Shoei's Gen 3 helmets – the Neotec 3, GT-Air 3 and J-Cruise 3 – and integrates through the SHOEI Comlink system with no externally mounted unit. It does not fit older helmets such as the Neotec 2 or GT-Air 2.
How many riders can the Cardo 4X-S connect to?
Up to 4 riders over Cardo's Live Bluetooth Intercom, with a range of up to 0.75 mile. It can also pair with Sena and other brands using universal pairing.
How long does the Cardo 4X-S battery last?
Cardo rates the 4X-S at up to 13 hours. Fast charging gives about 2 hours of talk time from a 20-minute charge, a full charge takes up to 2 hours, and you can charge while riding.
4X-S or Packtalk-S – which Cardo should I choose?
The 4X-S is ideal for riding two-up or with up to 3 friends and costs less. If you ride in larger groups, the Packtalk-S uses mesh for up to 31 riders. Both use 40 mm Sound by JBL and fit the Neotec 3, GT-Air 3 and J-Cruise 3.
What sizes are available?
This combo is offered in XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL. Shoei helmets fit true to head circumference – measure around your head just above the eyebrows and choose the matching size from Shoei's size chart. Contact The Helmet Shop if you're between sizes.
Can I buy the helmet and headset separately?
Yes, but the combo saves you the installation work: The Helmet Shop installs the Cardo 4X-S, routes the speakers and microphone, charges the battery and tests everything, and pairs two-helmet orders together.
Is the warranty affected by installation?
No. You receive a genuine Shoei helmet and a genuine Cardo headset, each covered by its manufacturer's warranty. The Cardo 4X-S carries a 2-year Cardo warranty.
