About Arai Helmets

Arai is a family-owned Japanese helmet maker that has hand-built premium motorcycle helmets since the 1950s. Every Arai is made by hand in Japan and built around the R75 shape and a "glancing-off" safety philosophy — widely regarded as one of the safest, best-fitting helmets you can buy.

Arai's approach is different from every other brand: rather than managing impact energy, Arai designs a smooth, strong shell to deflect it, and offers multiple interior head-shape fits so the helmet matches your head instead of the other way around. Find Your Arai Head Shape

Arai is the only company that builds different interior fit shapes for different heads. Most riders fall into one of three shapes — match yours to the right model for the best fit.

• Long Oval (longer front-to-back, narrower side-to-side) → Signet-X.
• Intermediate Oval (the most common shape) → Corsair-X, Contour-X, and Regent-X.
• Round Oval (rounder, shorter front-to-back) → Quantum-X.

What Makes Arai Different

• Hand-built in Japan — each helmet is shaped, assembled, and inspected by hand by Arai craftspeople.
• The R75 shape — a continuous curve with a minimum 75mm radius and a smooth shell, designed to glance off impacts rather than catch and jolt.
• Head-shape-specific fits — long oval, intermediate oval, and round oval interiors, plus the Facial Contour System (FCS) for fine-tuning.
• Snell + DOT certified — Arai builds to exceed Snell M2020 and DOT, a bar very few helmets even attempt.
• Shell integrity first — Arai deliberately avoids internal drop-down sun visors, since the void they require would compromise the shell and disqualify Snell certification.
• Comm-ready — most street models include speaker pockets and wire routing for a Bluetooth communication system.

Arai Fit & Sizing

Choosing an Arai is a two-step process: match your head shape to the right model, then measure for the correct size. Arai helmets fit snug out of the box and break in slightly as the liner settles.
